Grading
About my grading, well I think it is accurate, or it is for sure consistent. Which is why you are here to learn how I grade, so you know what you are getting, as everyone is different. On Ebay I have been using the same grading scale for 9 years and in sum total I have sold over 120,000 on ebay, let alone what I have sold through my website. I encourage you to look through my feedback. Most of the few negatives are miscommunication and nonpayment.
As for how I grade, items are on a scale 1-10. This scale is reffered to as c1, c2, c3, . . .c9, c10. I am very familiar with grading comic books which is where I came up with my grading system. Bare in mind grading is not just the surface, in also includes the stickers, the joint tightness, tires and even weapons. Thus I rate each seperate in my auctions. My scale is as follows:
c10 gem mint brand new few are gem mint - 1 in 400 maybe c9.5 near mint, perhaps 1-2 small flaws overall, c9 excellent with very minimal wear still, c8.5 very fine, shows light wear light wear c8 fine, c7.5 very good c7 - c6 good c6 and under fair
Virtually everything you will find on this site is c8 or better and most of that c9 and my auctions are general mix.
Examples:
1. Is Wreck-Gar although the example is stickerless you can just look at him and say "perfect" c10. 2. Is Blurr you can barely see two spec's on his window, that's all the wear on his whole body c9.5. 3. Is Grapple if you strain you can see black on most of the corners and edges on the chrome, grade with mint paint and mint plastic c8.5 4. Is Prowl hard to see, but he has yellowed, now yellowing, like anything affects the grade, in this case c7-c8 depends on truely how yellow and how nice the rest is even if it is dead mint and yellow the best grade I would give it is c8. click here 1
